About

Company overview

The KISS Airship GmbH is a privately owned company, officially founded in 2014 in Germany. The founders are seasoned project managers and engineers.

Building the KISS-Airship is being run like any other big business project, with a project structure including a regular steering committee representing sponsors, venture capitalists and outside subject matter experts.

However, there is one important distinction: „Vendor Management“ plays a special role in establishing and managing relations with vendors and suppliers, because – in accordance with the KISS-principle – the goal is to reduce development risks and the project time frame by combining ready-made parts from major players in the industry into a finalized prototype with minimal additional engineering requirements.

Mission

The KISS-airship adheres to the KISS-principle: Keep It Simple Stupid.

It avoids unnecessary complexity or unproven technologies (as opposed to other airship projects) to achieve one goal: Pick up a piece of cargo at point A and deliver it directly to point B. The KISS-airship might not be pretty or technologically advanced, but it can do a job no other existing vehicle can do. As soon as the KISS-airship has proven its economic value, the concept can be optimized: bigger, stronger, faster.

Vision

Airships, with their true point-to-point delivery capabilities without the need to tranship, have the potential to penetrate and completely disrupt existing logistics markets.

Transport airships offer great potential in reducing greenhouse gases, because lift is provided by the lifting gas and not by engine power as with airplanes. Airships only need limited ground infrastructure and will reduce the need to build roads, railways or airports in remote areas.
